Solskjaer’s Son Replied Mourinho’s Scathing Comment

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s son, Noah, responded to Jose Mourinho’s scathing comments that occurred after the Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United match in Week 31 of the Premier League. After the match which ended 3-1 to Manchester United’s victory, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jose Mourinho exchanged comments regarding one of the incidents on the field.

The incident was related to the actions of Tottenham Hotspur striker Son Heung-min, which caused Edinson Cavani’s goal to be disallowed. In the first half, Edinson Cavani was actually able to open up the advantage for Manchester United. However, referee Chris Kavanagh canceled the goal after reviewing the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) broadcast.

Based on the referee’s observation, there was one incident that made Cavani’s goal process invalid. Man United midfielder Scott McTominay was deemed to have committed a foul related to the goal. In the replay, McTominay was seen pointing his hand at the face of Son Heung-min who was about to grab the ball.

McTominay’s hand movement made Son Heung-min fall and lay on the field for a long time. After the match, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insinuated Son Heung-min’s actions which he considered excessive. “If my son falls for three minutes and it takes 10 players to help him get up, he will not be fed,” said Solskjaer.

Solskjaer’s statement made Jose Mourinho inflamed. He replied with a scathing comment. “I am very surprised that after Ole’s comment, you didn’t ask me about it. I’ve said it to Ole because I met him a few minutes ago. If I make comments like that to other team players, how will he react?” Mourinho has called Son Heung-min lucky to have a better father than Solskjaer.

“Sonny (Son Heung-min’s nickname) is very lucky that his father is a better person than Ole. As a father, you have to feed your children, no matter what they do. Even if you have to steal food,” said Mourinho.

After that, Solskjaer received a defense from his son who is now has a career as a soccer player, Noah Solskjaer. “I always get food, I can assure everyone about that,” Noah told Norwegian newspaper Tidens Krav. Furthermore, Noah said that Jose Mourinho only wanted to shift focus from the defeat suffered by Tottenham Hotspur. “Mourinho may just want to take the focus off the fact that they have lost,” said Noah.
