Rossi’s sad story at the 2021 British MotoGP

Valentino Rossi is so sad to fail to gain points in the 2021 British MotoGP after starting from eighth position and having to see other riders pass him one by one.

Rossi enthusiastically welcomed the 2021 British MotoGP because he had a pretty good record at the Silverstone Circuit. Not only through words, Rossi also proved that he could compete in the qualifying session and took the eighth position at the start.

The Doctor had entered the top six during the race, but slowly Rossi began to be knocked out of the top 10 and could not get points because he was ranked 18th. Tire problem is Rossi’s main problem this time.

“I started well and on the first lap I was where I wanted to be, I knew I could compete for positions six to nine,” said Rossi, who chose medium for the rear tyre.

“After five or six laps my tailgate had a problem. There was no grip on the right side, it looked like the tires were burning. I started to lose one, two, three seconds per lap and I was just trying to finish the race, but I was so slow.” he continued.

Rossi knew the choice of medium tires would make it a little difficult, but the 42-year-old racer did not imagine that he would experience such a fatal problem.

“I’m so sorry and I’m very sad, I want a good result at Silverstone because I like the track and the atmosphere here is good. Apart from that I feel I have a good feeling with the M1 [bike]. I wanted to be in the top 10, but the result is different. ,” explained Rossi.

Finishing in 18th is Rossi’s worst record during a race in the most prestigious class, 500cc or MotoGP. Even though Rossi has a record of winning six times at one of these legendary circuits.

“I’ve had this problem a lot since 2019, we’ve done a lot of tests and changed the settings and the style of the race. Today I saw a lot of riders, because I was in the front group and they all passed me, and it was like I couldn’t do anything.” said the Petronas SRT Yamaha racer.

“I tried everything just to see the finish flag. Like at Assen and Barcelona, I was so fast in practice and slow in the race. We will see what we can do, but we don’t know when we will have the opportunity,” he was quoted as saying by GPOne.
