Premier League Results: Four Goals Drama in Liverpool vs Man City

Liverpool drew 2-2 with Manchester City in the seventh week of the Premier League at Anfield Stadium, Sunday (3/10). After a 0-0 draw in the second half, the goals of both teams came in the second half.

Man City had a goal opportunity in the 37th minute. However, Phil Foden’s corner in the 37th minute was denied by Alisson Becker.

Alisson almost blundered after his pass was cut by Bernardo Silva which was immediately passed to Phil Foden. But Man City’s counter-attack only resulted in a corner kick.

Man City continues to put pressure on Liverpool. In the 21st minute Foden again posed a threat after receiving Bernardo’s through ball. However, Alisson’s shot was blocked by Foden.

During the last 10 minutes until the middle of the first half, Man City controlled the game, especially in midfield. However, the Citizens’ attacks are often deadlocked after arriving in the Liverpool defense sector.

Alisson made another important save in the 44th minute. The Brazilian goalkeeper thwarted Foden’s chances of scoring a goal after receiving Ederson Moraes’ cross.

In the 50th minute striker Diogo Jota spread the threat through a left foot shot from outside the penalty box. But goalkeeper Ederson was more alert and could deny the goal opportunity.

Host Liverpool finally took the lead in the 56th minute after Mane receiving Mohamed Salah’s assist. The goal came from Salah who could outwit Man City’s left-back Joao Cancelo.

From the left Salah then went into the middle and provided a through ball for Mane before beating goalkeeper Ederson.

Man City could only score a reply in the 69th minute through Phil Foden’s left foot thanks to Gabriel Jesus’ charming assist.

Gabriel Jesus first accelerated in the Liverpool defense before sending a mature pass to Foden who was on the left side.

In a shooting space that is not too wide, Foden kicks off the left foot. The ball that leads to the second post makes Alisson not move.

Seven minutes later the Reds responded to Foden’s goal. Mohamed Salah again brought Liverpool 2-1 ahead in the 76th minute. After receiving a breakthrough bait from Curtis Jones, Salah dribbled in the Man City defense.

Salah again kept Bernardo Silva and Joao Cancelo from moving, then outwitted Aymeric Laporte. The action in the opponent’s penalty box was closed by Salah with a right-footed kick to the far post which Ederson couldn’t deny.

When the match seemed to be ending in victory for Liverpool, Kevin de Bruyne scored an equalizer in the 81st minute. Foden’s bait that failed to be completed into a goal by Gabriel Jesus was put to good use by De Bruyne who was standing free outside the penalty box.

De Bruyne kicks off the left foot. However, the ball that went to the left hit Joel Matip’s body so it changed direction, outwitting goalkeeper Alisson and scoring a goal.

Fabinho threw Liverpool’s golden opportunity back 3-2 ahead. In the 86th minute, Man City’s goal was empty after Ederson mistook Salah’s free kick.

However, Fabinho who received Salah’s ball failed to take advantage of this opportunity. Fabinho’s shot into the empty goal was quickly blocked by Rodri.
