Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will face Caleb Plant on November 6 to unify the titles of the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF at MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas.
The two boxers have been in charge of feeding the fire of a fight that promises a lot, first they had an exchange of blows in their first face to face and then poisonous darts with multiple statements have been thrown. In one of them, Alvarez highlighted his ability to adapt to circumstances.
Alvarez said that he will take this fight personally and that for this reason the show can be better. And if that wasn’t enough, the Mexican icon sent another hint to Plant to the point of considering himself invincible.
“On November 6 we’re going to put Mexican boxing on top. On the way to the missing title. I have the experience and skills to deal with all styles. This is nothing new to me. Tall, strong boxers. I have fought with everyone.” Alvarez said.
“Plant is a good fighter and he has a good jab. But staying on top is hard. You need to be disciplined and smart and obviously you need talent to keep it up.
“I only focus on what is coming and then we will see. After this fight, I don’t know. Now, my goal is to beat Caleb Plant. We only think about this fight, but after this, we want the best fight available.” Alvarez added.
Plant, 21 wins including 12 knockouts and no losses, won the IBF title by beating Venezuelan Jose Uzcategui by unanimous decision in January 2019 and defending it three times.
In this fight, Alvarez will take around 40 million dollars, his second big purse of his career, while Plant will have a few 10 million dollars.
