Hamilton Can Go to Prison for Feeding His Dog Vegan Diet

Lewis Hamilton fell in a new controversy and does not just because of his performances with the Mercedes team in Formula 1.

The British driver was criticised for giving his dog vegan food, when the animals need to eat meat and its derivatives in order to have a healthy life. Under the UK law, Hamilton could spend a long time at prison.

In the UK they take it very seriously. The Animal Welfare Law establishes that Hamilton violated the regulations and that he could spend up to 51 weeks in prison, in addition, he would face 24 thousand euros.

According to the president of the British Veterinary, Daniela dos Santosa a diet is not designed to meet the walfare standards of people’s pets.

“If your personal belief system means that you don’t want to eat any animal protein, that’s fine, but that diet it is not designed to meet the welfare standards of your pet,” Santosa said.

Hamilton has another passion outside of motorsport. He loves animals and especially his two dogs, two bulldogs, Roscoe and Coco, whom he never leaves behind.

The Briton created an Instagram account for his dog Roscoe, who can boast that he has more than 400,000 followers.

Hamilton admitted he takes his pet with him to all the countries he visits throughout the season and takes some pictures of him.

“I’m a vegan bulldog who loves to travel, play ball, and get every girl’s attention, especially when my butt is rubbed. I like Frisbee and tennis, you can read in the biography.” Hamilton said.

Hamilton is in second place in the drivers’ championship with 256.5 points, so he will have to get good results in the last six races of the season to be able to beat Red Bulls’s Max Verstappen, who is in the lead with 262.5 points.
