Thomas Tuchel Has No Problem with Roman Abramovich’s Decision to Leave Chelsea

Thomas Tuchel has insisted that owner Roman Abramovich’s decision to transfer the management of Chelsea to the club’s commissioners will not make any change in the day-to-day operations of the Stamford Bridge team.

“For news yesterday, I thought it would make no difference to my daily activities. This is how I understand the situation.” Tuchel said.

“I am still in close contact with Marina and Petr Cech to run the first-class squad, always giving my input and always doing our best so we can win football matches. This will not change and I think yesterday’s news should not create any problems in the operation of the team.” Tuchel added.

Abramovich has put huge sums into Chelsea since buying the club in 2003. The Russian has stepped back from Chelsea ownership, announcing the move in a statement on Saturday. But fans believe there’s a cunning reason behind Abramovich’s decision.

“During my nearly 20-year ownership of Chelsea FC, I have always viewed my role as a custodian of the Club, whose job it is ensuring that we are as successful as we can be today, as well as build for the future, while also playing a positive role in our communities,” Abramovich said.

According to reports,  the six trustee committee members still wanted more information on whether running the club was in line with UK charity law.

Meanwhile, the foundation’s attorneys are currently working to see if Abramovich’s proposal can actually work. In view, the commissioners wanted clarification from a legal point of view before they took control of the club.

The trustees of the Chelsea Charity Foundation currently include Club President Bruce Buck, women’s coach Emma Hayes, attorney John Devine, anti-discrimination executive director Piara Powar, CFO Paul Ramos and British Olympic Committee vice-chairman, Sir Hugh Robertson.
