Stefanos Tsitsipas, the Greek tennis player, can this week find his best grass-court performance in action at the Mallorca Championships?
The second seed got off to a positive start at the Mallorca Championships when she beat Ilya Ivashka 6-4, 6-4 in the second round. In a match that lasted 1 hour 23 minutes, he did not face a single break point opportunity.
“My serve is very important for a pitch like this. I think I can handle the situation with my serve,” said Stefanos Tsitsipas.

“I feel a little bit better in the rallies and felt after my first serve I could really get behind the ball and pick the right positions. I think that makes it difficult for my opponent to adjust and did very well. So I am very dedicated to it. The match was really good from start to finish.”
The world number 6 was dominant with her first serve after she dropped just five points from it. He also defended his second serve well after he claimed 74 percent of the points from the serve.
Now, the 2019 ATP Finals champion has swept all three meetings against Ivashka this season with all three meetings taking place on hard-court, clay-court and grass-court.
In the quarter-finals of the Mallorca Championships, Tsitsipas will face American Marcos Giron, who beat compatriot Mackenzie McDonald 4-6, 7-6, 6-4. The second seed beat Giron in straight sets in the quarter-finals of the Mexican Open, Acapulco earlier this season.
“He has a great grass-court game. I’ve fought against him. I expect a fierce fight,” Tsitsipas commented about McDonald’s.
If Tsitsipas manages to overcome the world number 67, the second seed will face Germany’s Daniel Altmaier or France’s Benjamin Bonzi where both players beat the seed.
In the second round match, Altmaier had to fight hard when he defeated the eighth seed, Sebastian Baez 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, while Bonzi surprisingly managed to beat the third seed, Denis Shapovalov with a convincing 6-4, 6 -1.
