Manchester United co-owner Avram Glazer has confirmed that new manager Erik ten Hag will be backed in the transfer market and spend a lot of money in the summer.
The summer transfer window will be crucial for United, as the club will need to bring in a large number of new players to counter for leaving players.
“I think it has been a disappointing season, disappointing for everyone. Therefore, we will work hard to make next season more optimistic. And we always spend the money we need to buy new players.” Avram said.
“That’s why we hired him (Erik ten Hag). So we know he’s going to do a great job at the Old Trafford.” Avram added.
United have just completed their worst season in Premier League history, finishing sixth with 58 points. This is United’s lowest total score in the English top flight since the 1989/90 season when they picked up just 48 points to finish the season in 13th place.
Under interim manager Ralf Rangnick, United have lost six consecutive away matches in the Premier League. This is the first time since March 1981.
The Red Devils new manager Ten Hag insisted he is ready to end the dominance of Liverpool and Man City in the Premier League.
“I admire them both, Manchester City and Liverpool. They play really fantastic football. But you will always see that an era can come to an end and I am looking forward to battle with them.” Ten Hag said.
According to reports, Ten Hag has set his terms and has been very clear about players who want to leave.
Edinson Cavani, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard of course will leave the Old Trafford.
