Former Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel is currently reportedly being approached by the England National Team. However, the German coach actually responded by refusing and choosing another national team instead of England.
He also has his own reasons why he refused the offer to coach the England national team. Because he feels Gareth Southgate, the current England coach, is still considered worthy to bring the Three Lions (the nickname of the England national team) to the international arena.
As is known, Thomas Tuchel is still unemployed after being sacked by Chelsea. He had to leave Chelsea dishonourably after getting poor results at the start of the 2022-2023 season.
Although still not coaching a team, Thomas Tuchel is reportedly getting several offers to handle the club. But he has turned down several offers and opted for a team that suits him.
It was widely heard that Thomas Tuchel immediately replaced Gareth Southgate after the 2022 World Cup. But he denied being the England coach.
The 49-year-old coach admitted that he had seen the continuation of his career. But Thomas Tuchel feels his chances to coach the England national team are very small, because Gareth Southgate is a good coach.
“I saw where I was going. But I think England have a good coach at the moment,” Thomas Tuchel was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail, Saturday (5/11/2022). I will not comment,” he explained. However, Thomas Tuchel admitted that he did not rule out the possibility of becoming a coach of a country.
He would accept the offer by seeing a team that has the potential to win the World Cup and European Cup. “Yes, why not? I didn’t think much of it until now. But I will consider if it is the right team and if it has the potential to win trophies like the World Cup and the European Cup.”
