A total of 3 Manchester United players were absent when they visited Luton Town headquarters in the 2023-2024 Premier League, Sunday 18 February 2024. They are Mason Mount, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrell Malacia who have not yet recovered from injury.
The absence of the names above is practically detrimental to Manchester United. Because, Manchester United needs to appear as a full team in order to get closer to the top four positions in the 2023-2024 Premier League standings.
Currently, Manchester United occupies sixth position in the standings with 41 points. They are six points behind Tottenham Hotspur in fourth position.
“First, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will need several weeks because he suffered another injury during training last week,” said Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag, quoting from Manchester United’s official website, Friday (16/2/2024).
“Likewise with Mason Mount and Tyrell Malacia who will take several more weeks to recover,” continued the Dutch coach.
Mason Mount joined Manchester United in the 2023 summer transfer market, but rarely gets playing minutes due to injury. He has only played 12 matches in all competitions with the Red Devils and contributed one assist.
Apart from Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Mason Mount and Tyrell Malacia, Manchester United is also likely to lose Luke Shaw, who suffered an injury when appearing against Aston Villa.
Victor Lindelof or Diogo Dalot is likely to be Erik Ten Hag’s choice to fill the left back position left by Luke Shaw. It will be interesting to see whether Manchester United can achieve their fourth consecutive win in the 2023-2024 Premier League.
