Yvon Michel insists to bring back the “Fast and Furious Boxing Series”

The Canadian promoter Yvon Michael would seriously consider bringing back the event called “Fast and Furious Boxing Series”. Due to the low number of large-scale galas presented by PBC in Quebec, Michel is looking for alternatives to allow his boxers to continue their progression.

“We are putting one or two sets on the ground to give our boxers a chance to move forward,” said Michael during his press conference.

“With a series, it is possible to sell subscriptions and partner long term with partners. It is also easier for our boxers, given that we have specific dates to offer them. That’s why we want to bring back a series in that style.” he added.

For three seasons from 2010 to 2013, Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM) organized 13 cards that allowed boxers like Antonin Decarie, David Lemieux and Adonis Stevenson to climb the ranks in various world rankings and eventually get major fights.

The “Fast and Furious Boxing Series” was then resurrected in partnership with InterBox in the fall of 2014, but it was only the story of two evenings. The current Chrono Aviation boxing series has been in existence since January 2016 and six events are presented annually.

Michel, however, does not hide the fact that the galas held at the Casinos of Montreal and Lac-Leamy have their limit and that additional financial means are required in order to attract rivals of greater renown that will allow the boxers to get hold of titles Of the minors.

Speaking in the press conference, Michel and his American partner Lou DiBella are still waiting for an agreement of Premier Boxing Champions before launching their boxing promotions between WBC lightweight champions Adonis Stevenson and Sean Monaghan on April 29 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

“The whole map is ready. The posters are ready. The tickets are ready to go on sale. It just takes the go. But if we do not get it this week, it’s going to be ridiculous.” said the Canadian.

At moment, Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) has got only four televised galas scheduled until the end of May, but only two major ones. In recent weeks, some media reported that PBC was experiencing significant financial hardship and several boxers were unhappy about that.
