Ajax are not interested in bringing Christian Erilsen back to Amsterdam, despite reports from the Dutch and Italian media.
Eriksen reached an agreement to terminate his contract with Inter Milan club without paying any compensation. However,, the Danish midfielder has become a free agent and is ready to find a new destination.
Ajax is rumored to have approached Eriksen to bring the former Tottenham Hotspur forward back to the Amsterdam Arena team.
However, according to the latest report from journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ajax has refused to pursue this deal. Earlier, Eriksen’s representative said there were two clubs interested in the 29-year-old.
“I can say that he will continue to play. Two teams called me to ask about Eriksen a few weeks ago,” Eriksen’s agent Martin Schoots said.
Eriksen signed a 4.5-year contract with Inter Milan in early 2020 with a salary of 10 million euros/season and made 60 appearances for the Serie A team.
Last summer, Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest in a match between Denmark and Finland at EURO 2021 worry the whole world. The Danish midfielder survived but had to have a defibrillator implanted.
According to Serie A regulations, players with implantable defibrillators will not be able to play in this tournament. That is also the reason why Inter Milan parted ways with Eriksen so that the player could play in countries with easier health regulations.
At Ajax, Daley Blind plays with a defibrillator in his body and Eriksen fans hope the player can return to old home.
Meanwhile, other major European teams have no intention of recruiting Eriksen because of concerns about his health situation.
Eriksen currently is training at Odense BK in the Danish league, where he started his professional football career. This Danish team is also a fit destination for Eriksen to continue playing.
