Suzuki’s Alex Rins will play in 2018 his second season in the MotoGP category. The 21-year-old rider, who is unmistakable, could achieve beautiful shots on the handlebars of his bike.
Rins has labeled his first season in duty at MotoGP was not easy. Injured for more than a quarter of the season, the rookie took a long time to get his bearings on a GSX-RR hard to handle. At the end of season, he was finally able to fight in the top-10, then the top-5, to finish in fourth place at Valencia Grand Prix.
“I have a lot more experience now,” Rins said to Speedweek. “The bike and the team give me one hundred percent confidence. It’s very important. Life is changing as a MotoGP rider.
“The small categories are very good, but the MotoGP is different: more people and more pressure, in the team as well as by the Japanese. But I live well with that, it’s not a problem.” Rins added.
The Spanish hoped Suzuki won’t repeat its mistakes of choosing the wrong engine specification next year, as the new power unit tested in the Valencia.
“I very satisfied, the second day, I mainly focused on working with the new engine. This is not yet the final version of the 2018 engine, but a development stage.” Rins said.
“I managed to be fast and especially resistant with worn tyres. These two days have been really productive. We tested several chassis and the engine. So we collected very important information for the factory in Japan.
“The new concessions will help us improve and develop. This year we have lacked in the engine, we made a wrong decision and if we could re-do it, it would be different.
“We hope we won’t repeat the same mistake. With this new engine I don’t reach the limit and I can ride a little more relaxed.” he added.

Rins team-mate Andrea Iannone on the other hand, he missed the first day of the testing due to minor viral infection. However, the Italian rider was also satisfied with the new Suzuki engine.
“The engine made little steps forward. It is very similar to the one in 2017, but a little better. We confirmed the feeling we had in Brno testing, where we tried a version similar to this one.” Iannone said.
“The new engine specification is better because it doesn’t push in the corner in the same was as the previous engine specification. That’s what we expected.” former Ducati rider added.
