Arturo Vidal Admits He’s Not Happy at Barcelona

Arturo Vidal admitted he is unhappy at his lack of playing time at Barcelona so far this season. The former Bayern midfielder managed just 12 minutes on the ground based Barca’s Champions League match against Slavia Praha on Wednesday.

Barcelona signed the Chilean midfielder as they see in him a player with a very high level at Juventus, Bayern and Chilean national team.

But Vidal’s chances of regular first-team football do look slim by the look of things with Frenkie de Jong and Arthur Melo all seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order at Barcelona this season.

“I will work hard to not leave this club and contribute to our seasonal objectives. But I’m not happy. Even if I’m trying to get through this situation and earn a place in the starting line-up. I have worked hard my whole career, my moment hasn’t arrived yet, but I’m calm, as I know it will.” Vidal said.

“I don’t seem to be able to find an explanation. There are different ways to look at football, these are the decisions a coach must take. I try to help the squad when I’m called upon.” Vidal added.

Vidal can arrive from behind for both pressure and scoring goals or creating chances. Inter Milan coach, Antonio Conte, was looking for a midfielder with these characteristics: good at pressing, physical, dangerous when arriving to the box.

At those things, Vidal is among the best in the world. He could prove to be very useful in Conte’s plans, and at certain circumstances.

“I have experienced a lot of nice things with him. Thanks to him I became one of the best. In football, the most important thing is to be trusted and if a coach has got that faith in you, it makes you grow a lot.” Vidal said.

Vidal has scored 2 goals in La Liga for Barcelona in this season.
