AS Roma now has Daniele De Rossi to replace Jose Mourinho in the coaching chair. However, hearing the news that Jurgen Klopp would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2023-2024 season, the Roma owner was immediately interested in bringing in the German coach next summer.
Yes, Klopp will leave Liverpool after serving for approximately nine years. The former Borussia Dortmund coach admitted that he had run out of energy even though his contract was still quite long until June 2026.
It is not yet known where Klopp will land next. However, the 56 year old coach emphasized that Liverpool is the last English club he will coach. Therefore, Klopp may continue his career in another country.
According to the Italian Football report, AS Roma is currently dreaming of Klopp’s arrival in the 2024 summer transfer market. As is known, I Giallorossi – AS Roma’s nickname – is currently being handled by Daniele De Rossi as interim coach after parting ways with Jose Mourinho.
AS Roma owners, the Friedkin family, have reportedly opened up the possibility of bringing in Jurgen Klopp. However, AS Roma also understands that it will be difficult to bring in Klopp because of the competition this summer.
“Roma’s owners, the Fredkin family, have started to think about the possibility of appointing Klopp in the summer, aware that the price will not be cheap and clubs throughout Europe will definitely want to recruit the German tactician,” wrote the Italian Football report, quoted on Sunday (28 /1/2024).
Apart from that, the history of difficulty in maintaining a coaching chair at AS Roma will also be a consideration factor for Klopp. AS Roma management must persuade Klopp to accept the challenge.
“Due to the chaotic nature of coaching in the Italian capital, it will likely take a lot of effort to convince Klopp to the Giallorossi, especially considering he will leave Liverpool due to a lack of energy,” wrote the Italian Football report.
Jose Mourinho, who is known as an experienced coach, has just been fired from AS Roma. The Portuguese coach was allegedly ‘kicked’ from the club because of differences of understanding with AS Roma management.
