Away to Bayern Munich’s Headquarters, Real Madrid is Confident

Real Madrid will challenge Bayern Munich in the 2023/2024 Champions League. Carlo Ancelotti emphasized that his team was quite confident going into this match.

Real Madrid will visit Bayern Munich’s headquarters in the first leg of the 2023/2024 Champions League semifinals. The two teams will meet at the Allianz Arena, Tuesday (30/4/2024).

Before advancing to the semifinals, Real Madrid managed to eliminate defending champion Manchester City. Los Blancos won on penalties in the second leg.

Real Madrid last met Bayern Munich in the 2017/2018 Champions League semifinals. Madrid won the duel 4-3 on aggregate after winning 2-1 at the Allianz Arena and drawing 2-2 at home.

Carlo Ancelotti considers Bayern Munich a great team. The Italian coach feels quite confident that his team can achieve good results in this match.

“Everything that happened in the past certainly holds beautiful memories, but tomorrow will be a different story,” said Ancelotti on the club’s official website.

“The first game of the semi-final, we were confident but aware that we were facing a team with great attributes, quality and real individual talent.”

Many did not expect that Real Madrid could reach the semifinals of the Champions League this season. Ancelotti emphasized that his team’s achievements were thanks to effort and hard work.

“As always, we are very happy to be here because not many people thought I would be here to give a press conference today,” continued Ancelotti.

“We have achieved it through effort, hard work and commitment. Now we are worried and confident ahead of a semi-final that could take us to another final. This is played for 180 minutes, not 90 minutes.”

Carlo Ancelotti has a good record against Bayern. The Italian coach has never lost when he met the German giants in the Champions League.

Ancelotti has faced Bayern eight times. In detail, six times with AC Milan, twice with Real Madrid.

Of those eight meetings, Ancelotti has never lost. The Italian coach recorded six wins and two draws.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team scored 18 goals and conceded six goals when they met Bayern Munich. He could even become a three-time champion after facing the German giant.

Ancelotti’s last meeting against Bayern was the 2013/2014 Champions League semifinals. Real Madrid won the duel 5-0 on aggregate after winning 1-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu and winning 4-0 at home to their opponents.
