Geek Fam made a surprising appearance in the 5th week of MPL Season 14. Against 4peat champion Fnatic ONIC, they successfully extended their winning record over Sky King to two times this season.
In the third week, Baloyskie and friends managed to defeat ONIC 2-1. Then last Sunday night, the Landak was made helpless 2-0. Caught on camera after the match, Baloyskie looked expressionless. Although there was a cheer from the PH roamer when his team destroyed the FNOC base, his expression immediately changed to flat without emotion, seeming “shocked”.
So, what was on Baloyskie’s mind at that time?
“Because before this season I had never won against Kairi at all. But in leg 1 we won 2-1 and leg 2 we won 2-0 and I think we were really owning it. Actually, it’s not that we didn’t expect it because we were noobs and they were good, I think we weren’t 100% when compared to scrim because in scrim we were more connected. But earlier we were able to connect and be compact like that,” he said fluently in a media interview session.
MPL fans also pinned the title “Sky King Slayer” for Geek Fam this season for their success in defeating ONIC in two consecutive legs. It seems that Baloyskie really learned from each defeat so that his team could improve better when they met their biggest threat, FNOC.
Baloyskie is really OP, even with a different roster he still makes Geek Fam a strong challenger. A real reliable captain!!!
