Bayern Munich has claimed their sixth UEFA Champions League title with 1-0 win over France champions Paris Saint-Germain at the Estadio de Luz in Lisbon on Sunday behind the closed doors.

Bayern was forced into an injury substitution after 25 minutes, with Jerome Boateng needing to be helped of the ground. Robert Lewandowski saw his centre strike pushed back by the Parisian post in the 22nd minute then his head at close range stopped by PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas in the 31st minute.

Bayern opened the scoring in the 59th minute with Kingsley Coman. The Frenchman made the difference in the end with a header at the back post and successful to bring Bayern to the 1-0 controls.

“It was a good final. It’s fantastic, a great happiness. Even if you have to be professional, my heart is in Paris, so it hurts a bit at heart, you have to respect what PSG did. We didn’t concede a goal and we won and that’s the most important.” Coman said.

The German champions Bayern are unbeaten in 29 games overall and have scored 94 goals in the process. They boast tournament top scorer Robert Lewandowski who has netted 15 times and their high pressing earned them a stunning 8-2 quarter-final win over Lionel Messi’s Barcelona.

Bayern thus becomes tied with Liverpool, the third club behind Real Madrid and AC Milan in the Champions League list. PSG, meanwhile, was playing their first Champions League final.
