Furthermore, Nathan Ake claimed that The Citizens had played well throughout the match even though they had difficulty scoring goals. However, thanks to his hard work and effort, he was able to break Manchester City’s deadlock.
“I thought we played very well throughout the game. We just had to score a goal. That didn’t happen again for a long time but fortunately we managed to get it in the end,” explained Nathan Ake.
“We played very well and created a lot of chances. The confidence to keep going even though we didn’t score a goal, we kept going and kept trying. Finally we got it. We thought it would never happen. It finally arrived,” he said.
This result allows Manchester City to advance to the fifth round or last 16 of the 2023-2024 FA Cup. Nathan Ake also highlighted the importance of the victory that The Citizens must achieve in their efforts to defend their FA Cup title this season.
“Very good. It’s important to go through. We want to fight in every competition. Tonight was another big step forward,” he concluded.
