Bottas beat Hamilton to pole position

Valterri Bottas made it to pole at his team mate home ground Silvestone Circuit.

Lewis Hamilton was beaten by Finnish team-mate by six thousand of a second for pole position at British Grand Prix.

Bottas took the lead during his first runs in Q3 where he set the pace for pole positions. Hamilton was unable to break the record set by him.

Hamilton’s effort to lead the race from start was hindered by rear of his car, which pushed him to ran wider at the exit of the corner.

Although Bottas tried to improve his time which he failed to do so during his second run in Q3. Hamilton tried hard to improve his time but he failed to manage due to his pace issues.

Ferrari made it to third position with Charles Leclerc third fastest on the ground. He was within tenth of pole and was ahead of the same time length from Red Bulls Max Verstappen.

Ferrari driver Charles Lerclerc was third fastest, within a tenth of Bottas, and a tenth of a second clear of the lead Red Bull of Max Verstappen.

Leclerc pushed Mercedes for pole position but he lost time to German drivers in the final sector.

Pierre Gasly also pushed for better position and was fifth fastest behind his team lagging for 0.314 second slower.

Gasly strong hold Sebastian Vettel at sixth position. He had difficulties at track which hold him off.

Renault was positioned at seventh by Daniel Ricciardo while Lando Norris was behind him in his McLaren.

Alex Albon and Nico Hulkenberg made it to top ten positions.

Red Bull and Mercedes, title defending team,  will kick-off the race on medium compound Pirellis. While the rest top 10 will be starting with soft.

Antonio Giovinazzi, Alfa Romeo driver, was quicker than his team mate Kimi Raikkonen. Alfa Romeo stood at eleventh and twelfth positions with McLaren behind them.
