Canelo Alvarez Defeats Jermell Charlo by Unanimous Decision to Retain Undisputed Super Middleweight Title

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez cemented his status as the pound-for-pound best boxer in the world on Saturday night, defeating Jermell Charlo by unanimous decision (119-108, 118-109, 118-109) to retain the undisputed super middleweight title at T-mobile Arena, Las Vegas.

The fight was a highly anticipated one, with both fighters entering the ring with undefeated records.

Charlo was the defending WBC, IBF, and WBO champion, while Alvarez was the defending WBA champion.

“I’m very happy. I’m very happy to be the undisputed champion. I worked really hard for this. I dedicated myself to this. I’m very proud of myself.” Alvarez said after the fight.

Alvarez started the fight strong, landing several hard punches in the early rounds. Charlo tried to fight back, but he was unable to keep up with Alvarez’s pace and power.

Alvarez continued to dominate the fight throughout the middle rounds, landing several combinations and uppercuts. Charlo was visibly hurt on several occasions, but he refused to give up.

In the later rounds, Charlo tried to make a comeback, but he was unable to land enough clean punches to hurt Alvarez.

Alvarez cruised to victory, and he was crowned the undisputed super middleweight champion of the world.

With the victory, Alvarez becomes the first fighter in history to hold all four major super middleweight titles (WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO).

Alvarez is also the first Mexican fighter to win undisputed world titles in two different weight classes (super welterweight and super middleweight).

His victory over Charlo is one of the most impressive accomplishments in boxing history. He has defeated some of the best fighters of his generation, including Gennady Golovkin, Miguel Cotto, and Danny Jacobs.

Alvarez is now widely considered to be the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world. He is a true superstar, and he is sure to continue to entertain boxing fans for years to come.
