Chelsea Beat Burnley 4-0, Maurizio Sarri Create Record

Chelsea successfully defeated Burnley with a landslide score of 4-0 in the English League at Turf Moor on Sunday (10/28). Alvaro Morata, Ross Barkley, Willian, Ruben Loftus-Cheek take turns breaking into Burnley’s goal.

Chelsea managed to open the scoring in the 22nd minute through Alvaro Morata. Ross Barkley’s breakthrough bait was well received by Morata. Facing one on one with Joe Hart, Morata fired a horizontal shot that Joe Hart could not dispel.

As the host, Burnley tried hard to pose a threat to the Blues. But until the first half ended, Burnley was unable to fire a shot right on target against Chelsea.

Going into the second half, Chelsea managed to double the advantage to 2-0 through Ross Barkley. The player with back number eight fired a long-range shot from outside the penalty box. The ball slid into the left corner without being able to be held back by Joe Hart.

Chelsea then scored the third goal against Burnley through Willian’s feet in the 63rd minute. Similar to Barkley’s goal, Willian moved outside the penalty box and fired a shot towards the left corner of the goal. Hart again could not reach the ball.

Chelsea did not intend to reduce the tempo of the attack after winning three goals. The Blues put Olivier Giroud and Cesc Fabregas as new forces in attack. As a result, Chelsea were able to score the fourth goal in injury time. Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored with a shot from close range. The 4-0 score for Chelsea lasted until the end of the match.

The success of Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Burnley in the English Premier League at Turf Moor was a record for the manager, Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea successfully brought home three points from their trip to Turf Moor. Quoted from Opta, this victory also made Sarri record history as the first coach to be unbeaten in 10 inaugural matches with Chelsea in the English League.

In the first 10 matches of the season, Chelsea recorded seven wins and three draws, making the Blues temporarily sit in second place in the standings. Chelsea collected 24 points, two points behind Liverpool who are currently top of the table.

In general, Chelsea’s success in passing the first 10 games without defeat was the fifth success. Previously, Chelsea also did so in the 1964/1965, 1966/1967, 2005/2006 and 2014/2015 seasons.

In the era of the English Premier League, two good records in the 2005/2006 and 2014/2015 seasons led to the title. Chelsea were coached by Jose Mourinho on these two occasions.

Sarri himself admitted Chelsea had a little trouble at the start of the match before finally dominating the match.

“We were in trouble in the first 10 minutes. Then we started to move the ball quickly and well.”

“In the second half, I think we dealt with the situation better, even compared to other matches. We also survived well compared to the previous three games. We performed very well in the last five minutes,” Sarri was quoted as saying by Football London.
