Chelsea Holds City, Cole Palmer Becomes The Hero

Chelsea managed to hold Manchester City to a draw with a score of 4-4 in the 12th week of the Premier League. The match will take place on Sunday (12/11/2023) at 23.30 WIB at Stamford Bridge, London.

Chelsea and Manchester City had an 8-goal drama in the Big Match match, and a penalty goal from Cole Palmer closed the match between Chelsea and Man City.

Both teams played impressively together, and also exchanged goals in each half. And, Erling Haaland became Man of the Match in that match, with 2 goals and 1 assist.

The Course of the Match

The opening goal of the match, opened by Man City’s lead, and the goal came from Erling Haaland’s penalty. The goal was scored in the 25th minute and the score was 1-0 for Man City.

Then after 4 minutes, Thiago Silva pulled a goal back for Chelsea in the 29th minute, after receiving a corner kick from Conor Gallagher.

Unmitigated, Chelsea, by playing quickly, managed to score the second goal in the 37th minute, Raheem Sterling was the creator of the second goal from Reece James’ short pass.

Approaching half time, Manuel Akanji returned Chelsea’s lead. By receiving a long pass from Bernando Silva, and being greeted by Manuel Akanji’s header, making the score 2-2 until the referee blew the first half whistle.

In the second half, Erling Haaland quickly managed to beat Chelsea with a score of 3-2. The goal was created in the 47th minute, after the ball was positioned from Julian Alvarez’s pass, and then the ball failed to be anticipated by Reece James so that the ball went to Haaland with a slide and created a goal for Man City.

Chelsea managed to get their revenge, in the 67th minute to be precise, through Nicolas Jackson’s lead. Ederson managed to anticipate the ball through a kick from Conor Gallagher, and then a direct execution by Nicolas Jackson.

In the 86th minute, Erling Haaland accidentally created a back pass, and was then saved by Rodri’s kick which resulted in a goal for Man City, and the score became 4-3 in favor of Man City.

Towards the end of the half, Armando Broja was brought down by Ruben Dias in the forbidden box, thus awarding Chelsea a penalty. And then, Cole Palmer managed to score a goal through this execution in the 90+5 minute, and the score became 4-4.

The score 4-4 closed the Big Match between Chelsea and Manchester City. With this draw, Chelsea had to stay in 10th position with 16 points, and Man City remained at the top of the Premier League standings in week 12 with 28 points.

Cole Palmer decided the final result of the match which saved Chelsea from defeat, and also managed to prevent Man City from winning.
