Defeat Tottenham, Chelsea goes to the English League Cup Final

Chelsea defeated Tottenham Hotspur in the match of the English League Cup semi-final second leg which took place at Stamford Bridge Stadium on Friday (25/1) with a score of 4-2 on penalties.

Chelsea managed to lock the score 2-0 until the halftime match. In the first half, the deadlock broke in the 26th minute with a beautiful goal from outside the penalty box by N’Golo Kante.

Utilizing a wild ball from Eden Hazard’s corner, N’Golo Kante, who is free-standing, shoots a hard right-footed shot from outside the penalty box. Kante’s ball kicked three Tottenham Hotspur players, namely Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko and Paulo Gazzaniga, before finally entering the goal.

The Blues managed to double the advantage in the 38th minute through Eden Hazard from a cross from Azpilicueta. Cesar Azpilicueta’s pass from the right was struck by Eden Hazard in the middle of the penalty box. The ball rolled into the left corner without being able to be stopped Gazzaniga. The first half ended 2-0 for Chelsea’s advantage.

The second half has only been running for four minutes, Tottenham managed to minimize Chelsea’s advantage through a goal scored by Fernando Llorente thanks to a Danny Rose cross in the 50th minute. Danny Rose’s cross was headed by Fernando Llorente who stood between two Chelsea players.

Tottenham got a chance in the 66th minute when Christian Eriksen’s pass led Llorente, but the attacker failed to make contact. Chelsea threatened through Pedro, whose shot could still be secured by Gazzaniga.

Because away goals and extra rounds did not apply because the aggregate results were balanced, the match was determined on penalties.

After the first two penalty kickers namely Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela managed to break Kepa Arrizabalaga’s goal, Tottenham’s goal failed at the execution of Eric Dier and Lucas.

The four Chelsea executor, Willian, Cesar Azpilicueta, Jorginho, and David Luiz managed to break through Paulo Gazzaniga.

Chelsea will advance to the English League Cup Final. Chelsea will challenge Manchester City on 24 February.
