UFC president Dana White has revealed spoken to Nate Diaz (19-11 MMA, 14-9 UFC) about returning to the UFC, according to reports.
The 33-year-old MMA fighter hasn’t foot inside the Octagon since his UFC 202 in August 2016 bout with Conor McGregor, which he loss via unanimous decision. But he is now in serious negotiations to fight at UFC 227 on August 4, at Staples Center in Los Angeles, USA.
Speaking to ESPN, White told there is no update on Diaz and denied to give details on any recent talks. The American has again and again revealed that the promotion attracted Diaz about potential rivals during his vacancy.
“I don’t know, I think Nate is interested in fighting right now. We’ll see how that plays out. I think he wants to fight. I think he does,” White told to journalist.
Diaz told to media in February that he was serious about returning to the Octagon this year and he likes to fight welterweight champion Tyron Woodley for his first bout back.
“I’m getting to the point where I’m sick of not fighting. I’m not getting any younger. I put that tweet out saying I wanted to fight in May or June, but I didn’t say who because I was weighing my options. And now, Woodley is my best options.” Diaz said.
“I see him on TMZ every week, talking about me. I like it, it’s not really my weight class, but I’m with it. I think it’s my little we’re fighting for. If he’s the one calling me out, whose title are we fighting for? Who’s the real champion here?” Diaz added.
However, White quickly denied what Diaz wants to do next. He has insisted that the former UFC champion Rafael dos Anjos is next line to fight Woodley on July 7 at UFC 226.

Kevin Lee on the other side, he has claimed that he is the best options for UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in next fights.
However, if he does not get the opportunity to fight Nurmagomedov, Lee has no problem to fight Diaz at UFC 227 this Auguts in the octagon.
“I’m turning my focus to Nate. I think that Nate fight is out there to be had. He’s already from me once. Now they’ve got August 4 coming up that he’s looking to get on.” Lee said.
