Daria Saville was affected by Bianca Andreescu’s decision to withdraw from the tournament two days before the Cincinnati Open began.
Canadian tennis player Andreescu should have been scheduled to face world number 29 Camila Giorgi in the first round of the Cincinnati Open (Western & Southern Open). Tournament organizers announced that the world number 53 will now be replaced by a qualifier or lucky loser. The Canadian tennis player’s last-minute withdrawal was unfortunate for the Australian who failed to participate in the WTA level 1000 tournament.
Responding to the news, the 28-year-old tennis player took to social media and stated that things like that happen often.

“I don’t even get upset, but yeah, it happens all the time,” Daria Saville wrote.
In a different tweet, the world number 73 explained that if Andreesccu withdraws before qualifying begins, the Australian will replace the Canadian in the main draw.
“If anyone from the main draw of the match withdraws before the qualifying match starts, then the player on the substitutes list will take his place. The match starts today at 10, so it must be before that. And I was the first substitute,” said Saville.
However, shortly after posting the two tweets, the Australian national informed fans of his participation in the W60 Bronx, NY Tournament 2022, an ITF event held August 15-21 in New York.
“No problem. I’ll be playing in the Bronx,” Saville wrote.
Meanwhile, Andreescu has so far won three titles in his career and all three titles are prestigious titles. In addition to titles at Indian Wells and the 2019 Canadian Open, she surprisingly managed to beat Serena Williams in the US Open final that same season.
Eyeing a second Canadian Open title this week, the hosts started with a win over Daria Kasatkina and followed that up with a win over Alize Cornet. But his pace stopped in the third round when he faced Zheng Qinwen.
Andreescu has not been able to add to his trophy collection since he won the 2019 US Open after battling with injuries and mental health.
