Martin Keown [ex-Arsenal player] tried to analysed about Arsenal decision to brought in Denis Suarez from Barcelona in this last winter transfer windows. He believed that his ex-club is trying to strengthen their midfielder sector and to show their midfield power.
Denis Suarez was brought in to Emirates Stadium from La Liga Giant Barcelona in a loan deal. Denis will be an Arsenal player at least until the end of the next season.
Keown told Daily Mirror that he is trying to analyse what is Unai Emery thought when he make the decision for the loan deal of Denis Suarez. Because Keown thinks that the Arsenal is pack with wonderful midfielder.
“Honestly I am a bit surprised because Emery was not prioritising the purchase of defender player,” said Martin Keown, ex Arsenal defender who play from 1993-2004.
“But this transfer showing clearly that he wanted to fix Arsenal possession skill in the middle of the field. Keown added.
Aside from that, the arrival of Denis Suarez was to be a pressure push for another of Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka.
“Unai Emery will not benched Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi because they have shown hope,” added Keown.
Both of that midfielder was only joining Arsenal in the early of the 2018-2019 season. However their performance in the middle of the park were very above standard and therefore, they often got picked by Emery in many occasions.
