Revenge, Team Secret Beat Virtus.Pro and Win Chongqing Major

The 2019 Chongqing Major Tournament finally ended, and Team Secret successfully won the winner after beating Virtus.pro with a convincing score, which was 3-1.

Team Secret seems to have managed to show a brilliant performance in this new update with a consistent game. The journey of the eye logo team is actually not easy to winning the Chongqing Major tournament this time.

Had crashed after losing to PSG.LGD with 2-0 in the group stage, Team Secret could finally qualify for the upper bracket after winning the decider match against Forward Gaming. Even though they managed to get to the upper bracket, they obviously had to be willing to go down to the lower bracket after losing to Virtus.pro with a score of 2-1.

But it turns out their final lower bracket managed to emphasize the resistance of one of the North American teams, namely Evil Geniuses with a convincing score. On the top match they have to go back against the team that beat them before, Virtus.pro to win the first major trophy in 2019.

Although MidOne’s words boasted that VP would not reach the final did not materialize, but he also proved that VP could no longer succeed in the final. All Secret players show their most phenomenal performance to subvert VP. But it all started from the foresight and innovation of the captain and drafter, Clement “Puppey” Ivanov.

Since the beginning of patch 7.20 came out, he has popularized a series of “deviant” support such as Axe, Brewmaster and Centaur. The most recent last when he experimented with YapzOr who used Luna position 4. Combining the pusher with the aura of the Drow Ranger, Secret’s composition was able to crush heroes and towers quickly. In the end, VP itself felt the horror of the innovative draft to surrender in just 17 minutes.

Unexpectedly, they managed to humiliate the team bearing the logo with a convincing 3-1 score. With this, Team Secret was crowned the Chongqing Major champion by bringing home US $ 350,000

In addition, they are entitled to receive Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) points of 4950. As well as the results of this score equalize Virtus.pro achievement with the same points.

For complete winners from winners one to four are as follows:

Team Secret = 4,950 DPC Points (US $ 350,000)
Virtus.pro = 3,000 Points (US $ 170,000)
Evil Geniuses = 2,100 Points (US $ 100,000)
PSG.LGD = 1,350 Points (US $ 80,000)

Bad results seem to be experienced by the winners of The International 7, Team Liquid who did not make it to the top 4. Playing without a Miracle seems to be one of the factors why they have to settle for being in the top 8 position. Besides that the major tournament this time also seemed to stumble by a few minor problems which made the tournament’s image slightly tarnished.

An example is when Shadow, the standard substitute for Miracle on Team Liquid who has a problem with food poisoning. Well, even though the first major tournament in 2019 this time could be considered very successful with the presentation shown.

Once again congratulations to Puppey and friends! Hopefully this result they can win the next major or minor tournament.
