The victory made The Citizens keep a distance from Leicester, who are ranked second in the Premier League standings. Pep Guardiola’s squad in third place is now only three points apart.
The first round was dominated by City with ball possession reaching 69%. City is also more diligent in creating opportunities, and superior to the number of shots 13 to 3. Even so, the game is arguably running quite tight.
