English Premier League results: Tottenham beat Man City 2-0

Tottenham Hotspur successfully beat Manchester City 2-0 in the English Premier league title in London, Sunday (22/11).

The Tottenham vs Man City duel was interesting. The attractive play of Pep Guardiola’s squad was able to be suppressed by Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham’s disciplinary defense.

Man City spread the threat first when the game had only been running for two minutes through Ferran Torres. However, Torres shot from outside the penalty box can still be anticipated by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Three minutes later Tottenham turned to press and managed to take the lead through Son Heung Min’s shot from outside the penalty box which Ederson failed to dammed.

The host almost doubled the lead through Harry Kane in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, the referee annulled the goal because Kane was already in an offside position.

Man City also almost equalized in the 28th minute through Aymeric Laporte’s shot using a Gabriel Jesus pass. However, the referee canceled the goal because Jesus was handball first.

The Citizens tried to equalize through efforts by Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus. However, the opportunities these two players have are still not fruitful. The Spurs 1-0 advantage lasted until the interval of the match.

Entering the second half, Man City tried to appear more attacking while the hosts remained loyal while looking for an opening to launch a counterattack.

The Lilywhites’ quick counterattack turned out to be a real deadly weapon to destroy the City, which was so busy in attacking.

Giovani Lo Celso successfully doubled Tottenham’s lead to 2-0 after using Harry Kane’s assist through a fast counter-attack scenario. Meanwhile City were unable to respond until the game was over.

This result led Tottenham to the top of the Premier League standings by packing a value of 20 or two points ahead of Chelsea. While City slumped to 10th place.

Manchester City are said to be targeting Harry Kane after losing to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Manchester City, quoted by the Daily Mail, began to be involved in rumors to bring in Harry Kane. Poor front line performance gave rise to these rumors.

Harry Kane is clearly the right choice for Manchester City. Kane is in his productive age, 27 years old. He is also familiar with the atmosphere of the Premier League, so it is believed he can immediately appear sharp as a striker.

Harry Kane also has good reasons to move. So far, he hasn’t tasted the championship trophy with Tottenham Hotspur. This made his career incomplete even though he performed individually.

But to be able to recruit Harry Kane, Manchester City must be prepared to spend. With a contract until 2024, Tottenham can charge Kane at 200 million euros or more. This situation that makes Kane’s transfer rumors so interesting is awaited.

In the match against Tottenham, The Citizens dominated possession by 66 percent. They also fired a total of 12 shots. But Pep Guardiola’s squad had to lose 0-2 at the end of the match.

Manchester City’s front line is indeed in trouble. They have only scored 10 goals from the eight matches played. Since scoring two goals in the match against Leicester which ended in a 2-5 defeat, Manchester City have never scored more than one goal in every game they have played.
