Fabrizio Romano Explains Why He Thinks Timo Werner to Leave Chelsea

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has admitted Chelsea are prepared to let Timo Werner leave on loan this summer. The Italian also provided more information, the loan may include the option to buy.

So far, there are two clubs interested in the 26-year-old striker, the old club RB Leipzig and the Italian giants Juventus.

“Timo Werner could really leave Chelsea this summer. He’s one of the names in Juventus list alongside Allegri’s priority Morata – was already discussed during negotiations for de Ligt,” Romano wrote on his Twitter.

Bild newspaper updated, Leipzig is trying to bring the German striker back to the club and Werner himself is also willing to cut his salary by 50% for the reunion to take place.

Werner, who has scored 23 goals in 89 appearances for Chelsea, started just 15 games in the Premier League last season and is keen to get more playing time at any club.

Last week, it was revealed that Werner was not happy with Thomas Tuchel’s comments about him and it has caused a bit of drama.

“I could be happy everywhere. It is clear I want to play more and I should play more to first be in good shape for the World Cup and also to have a chance to play at the World Cup.” Werner said.

“It doesn’t change anything whether it is a winter World Cup or in the summer. I think if I play half of the season or the whole season, I should play. It doesn’t change anything in my mind.

“But still, it’s already four months to go to the World Cup and we have a lot to do with Chelsea. The time will come when your thoughts go to the national team but not yet.” Werner added.

Chelsea have just bought in Raheem Sterling from Manchester City this summer. The England international scored his first Blues goal in a 3-1 win over Udinese, with Werner missing the match due to injury.
