Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok is now immortalized by Riot Games in a large documentation on the League of Legends game entitled Hall of Legends. The presence of this figure who is his own version of Michael Jordan in League of Legends is the main key, even the icon of the MOBA game produced by Riot Games itself.
The first announcement of the first player in the Hall of Fame was announced during Gen.G’s match against BLG at the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) which was held last May. So this announcement is an endorsement of Faker as the first pro player to attend the Hall of Legends, to be immortalized as an icon who raised the level of esports in League of Legends.
As an attractive prize, Riot Games collaborated with Mercedes Benz to give Faker a Mercedes Benz AMG SL 63 which was customized exclusively for this player from South Korea. “As esports gains more momentum, we at Mercedes Benz are pleased to expand our role as the official automotive partner of all global League of Legends Esports events to the Hall of Legends. I am thrilled to honor Faker as the first member here,” explained Britta Seeger as Member of the Board of Management Mercedes Benz Group AG, Marketing & Sales.
“We believe that Hall of Legends marks the next step in our ongoing partnership with Riot Games, following all previous events that focused on successful communities and co-created traditions, such as Championship Ring,” he continued.
The presence of the Hall of Legends in League of Legends also presents an in-game Event Pass, where you can see the exciting story behind Faker’s career. Players can get items, collections and skins related to this event to immortalize a Demon King from League of Legends. Further information regarding the content and events will be announced in more depth in mid-2024.
