Inter Milan received good news ahead of facing Benfica on the second matchday of the 2023-2024 Champions League. Inter Milan coach, Simone Inzaghi, revealed that Juan Cuadrado is certain to be ready to appear in this match.

The Nerazzurri – Inter Milan’s nickname – will host Benfica at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milan, Italy, Wednesday (4/10/2023). City rivals AC Milan received additional reinforcements in this match.

The reason is, Cuadrado, who is Inter Milan’s new recruit in the transfer market this summer, is certain to be ready to appear in the match against Benfica. Inzaghi, who delivered the news, couldn’t contain his happiness. Because, this former Juventus player is a figure who can be relied on in strengthening the Nerazzurri’s defence line.

“Cuadrado trained today and he will be called up. “I still have to decide who will be the starter,” said Inzaghi, adapted from Football Italia, Tuesday (3/10/2023).

“We missed him and I will rely on him in the next few games,” he continued.

As is known, Cuadrado has been absent from defending Inter Milan for the last four matches. In fact, the player with the Colombian passport has performed well in the Nerazzurri’s first three matches in the 2023/2024 Italian League. Where, from the three matches he has played, he has managed to score one assist.

Meanwhile, Inzaghi also conveyed the news about Stefano Sensi and Davide Frattesi. The 47 year old coach said that the two players would still have to be absent when Inter Milan faced Benfica. “Sensi and Frattesi are still not available.

Sensi will return after the break,” explained Inzaghi. “And we are assessing Frattesi, hoping he can appear against Bologna. There is hope for this match. “But, together with my staff members, we decided to postpone his return,” he added.

For your information, Inter Milan is currently in second place in Group D with one point. Meanwhile, Benfica is perched at the bottom of the standings after suffering a 0-2 defeat to RB Salzburg in their first match.
