Tennis News: Argentine Guido Pella has stated that he might not return to the ATP tournament, once the tournament resumes.

Pella is diagnosed with Morton’s Neuroma (thickening of tissue around one nerve to the toes that can cause pain and tenderness in the foot pads) and it will pull over from the world of tennis without a clear time limit.

Pella experienced health problems after enjoying one of the best seasons of her career. In the 2019 season, he recorded 36 wins and occupies the highest rank in his career to date, ranked 20 in the world in mid-August last season. He did not lose a set on his way to winning the first ATP tournament title in his career in Sao Paulo.

In addition, last season Guido Pella advanced to the Grand Slam quarterfinals for the first time at Wimbledon before losing to Roberto Bautista Agut. He also qualified for the Masters 1000 quarterfinals in Monte Carlo for the first time before losing to

Rafael Nadal. He also walked into the two semifinals at the 250 level ATP tournament in Buenos Aires and Los Cabos.

In the 2020 season, Pella advanced to the third round of the Australian Open for the first time and recorded 2-2 in helping Argentina advance to the quarterfinals of the ATP Cup.

“I don’t know if this pandemic is not the end of my career. At present, everything is uncertain. I don’t know if I will return to the field and I feel pain in six months, when I return to competition. I cannot predict what will happen in the future. We’ll see what will happen in the training session. I will deal with it step by step, “said Pella.

However, Pella felt pessimistic that the tennis tournament would continue this season.

“I don’t think the tennis tournament will continue this season. There is so much risk of being infected by the virus when it involves traveling to all corners of the globe,” said Pella.
