“I desire to be the champion of the league” Arsenal striker, sets his sights on Champions League Gold!

For Gabriel Jesus, scoring in the UEFA Champions League is not a significant accomplishment. He gave TNT Sports an explanation of this. With 24 goals in 42 games in the European competition, the Arsenal striker found the back of the net as his team defeated Lens 6-0 at the Emirates. Jesus declared that winning the Champions League was his goal, “not just scoring”.

Arsenal defeated Lens 6-0 in the UEFA Champions League, extending Gabriel Jesus’ remarkable record of scoring goals in Europe.  With one game remaining, the Gunners came out victorious in Group B and advanced to the knockout stages. At the Emirates, Kai Havertz scored the first goal. In an exciting first half, Jesus, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Martin Odegaard also found the back of the net.

In the final moments of the game, Jorginho added a penalty to cap off an incredible evening for Mikel Arteta’s team. In 42 Champions League games for both Manchester City and Arsenal, Jesus has scored 24 goals. In an interview with TNT Sports following the game, the 26-year-old stated his goals for the competition. “Champions League, I see many times,” he replied. “At home, I watched a lot. Football is my favorite sport, so I occasionally skipped school to watch.

Similar to the Premier League, the Champions League is special, but I’ve already won it [at Man City].

“Obviously, I want to win here at Arsenal, but I also want to win the Champions League.” Not merely score, but win.”

Jesus praised the home crowd at the Emirates and praised Arsenal’s “amazing” performance. “When you begin the game like we did, we score lots of goals, and then we’re winning,” he continued.

“Undoubtedly, we would like to continue, but at times it’s simply impractical because one becomes tired and the opponent attempts to play with the ball.”It’s always tough because we don’t spend as much time with the ball, but we didn’t give up a goal. It’s good that we maintain a spotless record, and we then score in the end.

Even if Arsenal loses to PSV on December 12, they will still be packed for the knockout stages as they lead Group B with 12 points. PSV and Arsenal will advance together in Group B, while Lens, who are in third place with five points, will not advance regardless of the outcome of the championship match. In order to guarantee their place in the Europa League, they must secure a point against Sevilla in the final match of the season.
