Indonesia SEA Games athletes to join strongly ASEAN Schools Games IX in Singapore

The Indonesian student’s swimming team to join strongly ASG IX in Singapore on 13 to 21 July. They also encouraged by the government to participate this event.

Two Indonesian SEA Games swimming champions, Azzahra Permatahani and Adinda Larasati are expected to join strongly the Indonesian swimming team to gain the most gold medalist for the Indonesia contingent during the event.

Speaking to media, Indonesian swimming coach who accompanied both swimmers, David Armandoni, his girls Azzahra will compete in three days of ASG swimming event before flying to Budapest, Hungary to join the world swimming champions.

“She [Azzahara] is targeted to add the gold medal by following six individual numbers and two relay numbers,” Armandoni said. “After that, she will return to Denpasar [Bali] to join the team then to fly for world champions in Hungary.

“Actually, Azzahra will focus at next SEA Games, but she needed by the Centralisation of National Train [Pelatnas] to come and join in Singapore, so she should also show up here.” Armandoni added.

However, the Frenchman admitted a busy schedule would have an effect on his girl’s physical during the event. “I’m going to leave Singapore on July 18. Actually I want to fly to Budapest, but I cannot do it.” Armandoni said. “I need to go directly to Bali, nor can the Pelatnas ask for transit in Jakarta.” But yes, I live alone, I hope Zahra is not getting tired.” he added.

Swimming will become the main hope for Indonesian contingent to be able to compete in the ASG IX on 13 to 21 July, in Singapore. Swimming is the biggest chances for Indonesia since they won in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam in 2015.

Singapore is hosting the annual ASG for the second time since 2009. There are nine ASEAN countries. There are ten sports will be organised in this event are swimming, badminton, basketball, netball, sepak takraw, gymnastics, table tennis, tenpin bowling, and volleyball.
