Inter Milan remain keen on signing Luka Modric, although Real Madrid will not let their star midfielder go without a fight. The Croatian star was linked a summer switch to the Nerazzuri.
Speaking to media, Inter Sports Director Asilio once again talked about the possibility of signing Modric in the feature.
“I don’t think it is possible to sign Modric, but why can’t we dream? I have been saying this summer that we have been here. If the person who proposed the transfer thinks the deal can be done, then he must first talk to Real Madrid and tell us the situation.” Asilio said.
“To be honest, we are not ready for negotiations because we know our possibilities. Modric Is a very important player, he is very good. Will we try to introduce him again? You can never say never in today’s football world.” Asilio added.
In the summer of this year, Inter intends to sign Modric, but the final deal was not achieved. They offer the World Cup winner an annual salary of 10 million euros for a four-year contract.
In addition, after the contract between Magic Flute and Inter expires, he can go to Jiangsu Suning for another two years, and the annual salary is still 10 million euros. So, this is a contract with a total price of up to 60 million euros.
Modric’s current contract with Real Madrid is 6.5 million euros and will expire in 2020. Inter’s invitation allowed Modric to seriously consider the possibility of leaving, but Madrid finally persuaded him to stay, and also complained to FIFA that Inter Milan had contact with Real Madrid players.
