Interesting Facts Ahead on Switzerland vs Germany

The second matchday of the UEFA Nations League will feature an exciting duel between Switzerland and Germany. The Switzerland vs Germany match is scheduled to take place on Monday (7/9/2020) at the St Jakob-Park Stadium, Basel.

Switzerland, which acts as the home team, carries a revival mission after losing to Ukraine on the first matchday, Friday (4/9/2020). Swiss coach, Vladimir Petkovic, plans to rotate several players to complete the mission.

“Germany are the favorite team, not only against us, but also against other teams,” said Petkovic, quoted from the official UEFA website. “We want to maintain our style against Germany. There will be several substitutions for that,” he said.

Meanwhile, Germany, who previously drew 1-1 with Spain, expressed readiness ahead of meeting Switzerland. This was revealed by the coach, Joachim Loew. “The match against Spain had a strong impact, but there were no serious injuries. All the players are ready to play (against Switzerland),” said Loew.

However, Loew remains wary of Swiss strength. He considered his potential opponent to have a style similar to Spain’s. “They (Switzerland) have a very progressive style of play and tactics. I see similarities in the playing styles between Switzerland and Spain,” said Loew.
