Italian League Results: Juventus Detained Draw by Verona

Juventus had to settle for a 1-1 draw against the host of Verona in the Italian League match on Sunday (28/4).

Juventus fielded Cristiano Ronaldo-Dejan Kulusevski as the spearhead in this match in a 3-5-2 formation demonstrated by Andrea Pirlo.

The visitors Juventus did not waste time by immediately appearing to suppress their opponent’s defense since the beginning of the first half.

Juventus’ first attack occurred when Aaron Ramsey in the second minute fired a shot from inside the penalty box. Ramsey’s shot could not change his position because of a thin miss to the left of the Verona goal.

Two minutes later it was Matthijs de Ligt’s turn to get the opportunity to bring Juventus ahead. But De Ligt also failed to direct a shot from inside the penalty box which was successfully read by the opposing goalkeeper, Marco Silvestri.

Verona turns to press the Juventus defense when the game enters the seventh minute. The opportunity for Verona to attack came from Davide Faraoni who was in the penalty box. Faraoni also continues the pass that leads to him with a header. His header hit the right post of Juventus’ goal guarded by Wojciech Szeszny.

Entering the 10th minute, Juventus seemed dominant in controlling the flow of the ball to carry out attacks. The club attack nicknamed The Old Lady was carried out again and came from Adrien Rabiot’s opportunities. On the 15th minute, Rabiot volleyed his way off the left of the host’s goal.

Despite the offensive formation, Juventus found it difficult to dismantle Verona’s defense. Score a goalless draw also adorned the first half.

After a draw in the first half, Ronaldo immediately kicked off a goal at the start of the second half, to be precise in the 49th minute.

Ronaldo received a mature cross from Federico Chiesa. Ronaldo’s presence from the second line was not read well by the Verona defender.

As a result, Ronaldo freely fired a hard shot which Verona goalkeeper Marco Silvestri could not stop.

When Juventus tried to increase the lead, they conceded by Verona in the 78th minute. In a simple attacking scheme, Darko Lazovic’s cross was headed by Antonin Barak.

Juventus goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny was just stunned to see the ball enter the right corner of the goal.

In the 85th minute, Verona had the opportunity to turn ahead through Darko Lazovic. Lazovic’s fierce shot rushes toward the net but Szczesny clears it and then hits the bar.

1-1 score lasted until the end of the game. This draw also made Juventus fail to get AC Milan’s points above them.

Andrea Pirlo’s team are still in third position with 46 points 3 points adrift of the Rossoneri. Meanwhile, Verona rose to ninth position with 35 points.
