Jack Miller Admits Won’t Be 100% Fit at the Portuguese GP

Jack Miller has admitted he won’t be fully fit at the Portuguese Grand Prix, the third MotoGP Grand Prix of 2021 and the first European round of the season.

The Ducati Lenovo Team rider has worked hard in recent days to recover in time, but does let know in advance that he won’t be 100% fit at the start this weekend.

“After the operation on the right forearm, I have started the rehabilitation immediately, and everything is going as planned.” Miller said.

“Portimao is a track that I really like, and I have great memories from last year’s race when I was able to finish second on the podium after a thrilling scrap with [Franco] Morbidelli.

“Unfortunately, this year I won’t be 100% fit, but I will do my best as always to try to get the best result possible.” Miller added.

Miller will first undergo a mandatory medical check-up on Thursday afternoon to get the green light from the doctors to join in the Portuguese GP weekend. This is not expected to cause any problems.

Similar purpose, of course, for his teammate, Francesco Bagnaia. The Italian rider expects to fight for another good result come Sunday.

“This almost two-week break and now I’m ready for the first GP in Europe. Portimao is a truly unique track: last year Istruggled a lot here, but for me it was a complicated moment of the season.” Bagnaia said.

“This year I will face the Portuguese Grand Prix with a different attitude: in the last two races in Qatar my feeling with the Desmosedici GP has been really good and this makes me confident. I’m sure I have all the means to be able to fight for another good result on Sunday.” Bagnaia added.
