Indonesian U-19 national team striker Jens Raven admitted that he did not think about competing with Rafael Struick to become a striker in the senior Indonesian national team.
Raven immediately proved his sharpness with the U-19 Indonesian National Team. The 18 year old striker succeeded in bringing Indonesia to become champion of the 2024 AFF U-19 Cup in the first official tournament with Indonesia.
Raven’s sharpness means that the striker who was born on 12 October 2005 is said to be worthy of the opportunity to play for the Indonesian senior and U-23 national teams.
Raven is still young, not yet 19 years old. However, the Indonesian U-19 National Team bomber already has a coaching license.
Raven’s name began to appear in national football public discussion several months ago when he entered the naturalization radar. Now this 18 year old young man is increasingly famous because he led the Indonesian U-19 National Team to become champions of the 2024 AFF U-19 Cup.
His single goal, following Kadek Arel’s header, was the difference in the final match against Thailand.
Even though he is still young and is expected to be the sharp spearhead of the Indonesian National Team, Raven apparently already has a coaching license.
“Yes, that’s true. I have a B license in Europe,” he said when asked about rumors of having a coaching license.
In an interview in the mixed zone of the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium after the 2024 AFF U-19 Cup final match, Raven explained the reasons for having this license.
“Football is for me in the future and is a hobby. In the future, I also want to train children in the Netherlands,” explained Raven.
Raven also explained that the process of obtaining a license had started from junior level C. Meanwhile he had had a B license since the end of June.
After bringing the Indonesian U-19 National Team to become champions of the AFF Cup, Raven will focus on appearing in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification. Indonesia will host the U-20 Asian Cup Qualification, 21-29 September, against Yemen, Timor Leste, and Maldives.
