Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho openly expressed disappointment over the attitude shown by Manchester United players in preseason.
Mourinho considers some players have no responsibility as a professional player because they are not ready to undergo preseason.
The Red Devils are not playing with major players, particularly those involved in the World Cup, in four warm-up games in July.
After facing America, San Jose Earthquakes, AC Milan and Liverpool, Mourinho and his team will face Real Madrid in the 2018 International Champions Cup preseason tournament.
“We will face Real Madrid and our players barely, Antonio Valencia coming from the holidays, I think he is having too much vacation, his condition is not good when he returns to the team, then injured and returned absent,” said Mourinho quoted by Sky Sports.
“Anthony Martial just had a baby, the baby is cute, healthy, thankfully, after the baby is born he should be here but he is not present,” continued the coach who will undergo a third season with Man United.
After facing Real Madrid, Manchester United will meet Bayern Munich in a friendly match next weekend before competing in the Premier League 2018/2019.
The club who owns most Premier League title holders play only a few major players in preseason games, such as Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, and Alexis Sanchez.
“We have Alexis and Mata who always play in every game and we will meet Real Madrid and Bayern Munich and that is the starting point of our team,” said Mourinho.
“I hope the players on vacation can take care of themselves and I hope to follow what Marcus Rashford and Phil Jones have done, by returning early and helping the team because at the start of the season we will be in trouble,” Mourinho added.
