Juventus Beat Barcelona 3-0, Ronaldo 2 Goals

Juventus managed to beat Barcelona 3-0 in the last match of the Champions League group phase at Camp Nou, Wednesday (9/12). Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals in this match.

Juventus got the first chance to score in the eighth minute. Cristiano Ronaldo fired a shot from inside the penalty box which was too weak and was easily tamed by Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Four minutes later, Juventus were awarded a penalty after Ronado was violated by Ronald Araujo in the penalty box. Ronaldo, who served as the executor, managed to carry out his duties perfectly to bring Juventus 1-0 up.

Juventus, who controlled the game, managed to increase the score to 2-0 in the 21st minute. Weston McKennie’s acrobatic kick after receiving Juan Cuadrado’s pass shook Ter Stegen’s goal.

Barcelona responded one minute later. Lionel Messi almost puts his name on the scoreboard if his shot from outside the penalty box is not tipped over by Gianluigi Buffon.

After that, Juventus still dominated the game. However, the visitors were unable to score additional goals and the 2-0 score lasted until the first half ended.

At the start of the second half, Juventus were awarded a penalty after Clement Lenglet handball when trying to block the ball in the Barcelona penalty box. Ronaldo, who advanced as the executor, could do his job well to make the score 3-0.

Barcelona responded after trailing 0-3. The opportunity to reduce the position also came through Antoine Griezmann.

Unfortunately Griezmann’s header from Messi’s bait still hit the Juventus crossbar which was guarded by Gianluigi Buffon.

In the remaining game time, Barcelona continues to terrorize the Juventus defense. But Buffon’s brilliant performance between the sticks kept Juventus’ goal safe from conceding until the second half ended.

This result does not affect the fate of the two teams because it has confirmed qualification for the knockout phase of the Champions League. However, Juventus have the right to qualify as Group F winners because they are superior head to head even though they both collect 15 points.

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon become Lionel Messi cs nightmare. Pirlo’s trust was paid for with a brilliant performance by Buffon. The legendary goalkeeper managed to make the Bianconeri’s goal not concede in this match.

Reporting from Squawka, Buffon made seven saves in this match. All the saves were made by the goalkeeper who was born in Carrara, Italy, to thwart Messi’s shot on target.

Messi is indeed the only Barcelona player to buy up seven shots on target from the 11 attempts he made while on the field. Four other attempts by Messi to score against Buffon missed the mark.

The seven saves in this match against Barcelona also prove Buffon is not finished even though he is getting old. Buffon himself in the last two seasons has been Juventus’ number two goalkeeper after Wojciech Szczesny.

Buffon’s impressive performance in this match completes Juventus’ good game at Barcelona headquarters. Buffon et al appear superior despite playing at home to opponents.
