Juventus Beat Lazio 2-0, Ronaldo Hasn’t Scored Yet

Juventus won 2-0 win over Lazio in the second match in Serie A 2018/2019 thanks to goals from Miralem Pjanic and Mario Mandzukic at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday.

Juventus, who played in a 4-3-3 formation, tried to dominate the game from the start. Nevertheless, Lazio had a chance in 11th and 12th minutes through Senad Lulic and Marco Parolo but no goals were created.

A chance for Juventus to be present in the 19th minute through midfielder Sami Khedira. Inside the penalty box, Khedira fired a shot which hit the post. The home goal came in the 12th minute after Miralem Pjanic unleashed a long-range volley which goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha could not dispel.

After a 1-0 score for Juventus, both teams played quite openly and resulted in attacks that changed from both sides. Towards the end of the first half, Parolo failed to take advantage of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s pass to score Lazio’s first goal in this match.

Gli Aquiloti’s effort to equalize continued in the second half through a long-range shot from Luis Alberto which was still deviated from the target. Cristiano Ronaldo who has not seen his real role has chance in the 62nd minute through a dead ball scheme that still hits the post. Ronaldo has a chance a minute later, but his header does not point to the goal.

The former Real Madrid player again tried to score the first goal in Serie A with a shot directed towards the top of Lazio’s goal in the 71st minute, but Strakosha was still able to secure the goal.

Four minutes after Ronaldo’s chances, Mario Mandzukic doubled Juventus’ lead with a little touch from Ronaldo.

La Vecchia Signora became the first team in Serie A to win two wins this season. Massimiliano Allegri’s men are temporarily leading the Serie A standings.

Cristiano Ronaldo has not been able to score a goal in two weeks of Serie A. However, Massimiliano Allegri has no problem and remains satisfied with the results achieved.

“I am happy with the performance shown by the team, moreover this is our first match against a big team. Everything is going well,” Allegri said as quoted by BolaSport.com from Sky Sport Italia.

“Ronaldo adapted very well. He is a very humble person and I am very happy with the impact he has given so far,” said the coach.

Since joining Real Madrid to Juventus on 10 July 2018, Cristiano Ronaldo has not been able to thrill the opponent’s net in the official match.

In fact, Massimiliano Allegri always dropped Ronaldo 90 minutes in the first two matches of the Italian League 2018-2019 season.
