Ahead of Friday’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers, Minesotta Timberwolves coach Chris Finch praised several points about his team.
One was the change in position of Towns, who moved from center to center forward after Rudy Gobert’s arrival in the franchise.

“I’m not selfish. I just want to win. I don’t know why people question my mindset. Everything I’ve done in my career indicates that I just want to win.” Towns said.
“I always put the organisation and the team first. Even when they said I should do different things, I kept putting the team first and being a great professional.” Towns added.
Regarding Towns’ statements, the Timberwolves coach claimed that no player of this level, other than the star, changes positions and is happy about it, citing Anthony Davis, who allegedly doesn’t like to play as a center.
The move that brought three-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert to Minnesota raised doubts before the start of the season.
After all, the team already had a great player and there were doubts about the fit of the stars on the court. However, Towns’ good reception of the idea and the Timberwolves’ performance so far proves that it is possible.
The team played six matches in 2022/23 and won four of them. Thus, it occupies seventh place in the Western Conference. On court, the fit looks promising.
However, the young star, Anthony Edwards is the one who “stole the show” in this early campaign. The shirt 1 is the franchise’s scorer this season with 23.8 points per game.
