Ron Reese, Las Vegas Sands senior vice-president, was asked to clarify about his position about the project. Reporter from GGRAsia asked Reese to explain whether the new set of procedures will be applicable to their operations in Macau and Singapore or it is strictly for US operations.

He responded to GGRAsia through email, “The policies, procedures and team-member training can vary from market to market, based on local regulations etcetera, but the company’s commitment to these issues is global and a part of our culture.

“The programme itself is meant to highlight and provide a platform from which Sands can take a role as an industry leader in these areas.”

Las Vegas Sands is the major market player in Macau. It operates under the name of Sands China Ltd. Their casino operations are running in Singapore under the name of Marina Bay Sands.

Training of staff under Project Protect will be executed with up to date curriculum in-order to achieve the desired results effectively on money laundering and human trafficking regionally and globally.
