Ligue 1 Results: Ended 1-1, Les Parisiens Congratulations Thanks to Goncalo Ramos Penalty

The results of PSG vs Rennes in the 2023-2024 French League are already known. The match at the Parc des Princess Stadium, Paris, France, Sunday (25/2/2024), ended with a score of 1-1.

Rennes took the lead through Amine Gouiri’s goal (35′). Les Parisiens then survived defeat thanks to Goncalo Ramos’ penalty goal (90+7′).

The hosts appeared dominant from the early minutes. However, the visitors’ deep defense made it quite difficult for PSG. A new opportunity was recorded in the 20th minute. Vitinha’s hard and accurate shot aimed at the bottom right corner of Steve Mandanda’s goal, but was parried by the goalkeeper.

Having fun attacking, PSG conceded the goal in the 35th minute. Starting from a counter attack, Gouiri dribbled the ball past a number of players into the penalty box. He ended the action with a kick that Gianluigi Donnarumma couldn’t block.

After a minute, Gouiri almost gave his team a 2-0 lead. Using the same scheme, but this time Donnarumma was able to ward off the ball. In the remaining time of the first half, no significant opportunities were created. The score was 1-0 for Rennes’ lead until halftime.

After the break, PSG increasingly launched a wave of attacks. Kylian Mbappe’s kick in the 55th minute was still slightly off target. Four minutes later, it was Ousmane Dembele’s kick which was blocked by Mandanda.

Rennes also did not remain silent. In the 69th minute, they threatened through Benjamin Bourigeaud’s shot which unfortunately went slightly wide. PSG’s hard work almost paid off in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, the referee did not award a penalty after Goncalo Ramos was brought down in the forbidden box.

Drama occurred in the final minutes. Mandanda’s violation of Ramos resulted in a penalty. The Portuguese striker calmly converted 12 shots! The score 1-1 closed the match.

One additional point makes PSG now collect 54 at the top of the standings. They are 11 points ahead of Brest in second place. Meanwhile, Rennes is in seventh place with 35 points
