Liverpool still appear dominant despite of injury crisis

It was predicted that they would experience a setback after several players were absent due to injury and Covid-19, Liverpool actually performed with the standards of the prospective team when facing Leicester City.

Yes, Liverpool did not appear surprising when they hosted Leicester but showed a performance like a serious title hunter in the Premier League.

Mohamed Salah, Jordan Henderson, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Thiago Alcantara, Joe Gomez, Rhys Williams, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are a number of names that entered the treatment room, but The Reds are not lame. The list seems to be just an absent note for Jurgen Klopp.

At least the first five names mentioned above are core player projections in normal situations. Klopp was then able to prove Liverpool were not addicting.

Liverpool have shown mental problems without addiction to one player when they lost Van Dijk who is a general at the back.

Without Van Dijk, Merseyside Red has proven to be playing solidly and meeting as a unit. In addition to the playing factor on the field, Klopp was actually helped by the depth of the team that was still ‘quite safe’.

Since Van Dijk officially stopped starting, Liverpool have played seven games in all competitions and conceded only three times and recorded four clean sheets. Liverpool have never lost in these seven matches.

The position and role that Van Dijk usually plays is now occupied by Fabinho. As a spare, the Brazilian playing in his original position as a midfielder played a neat role.

Other coating players also followed Fabinho’s abilities as a suitable reserve. In the match against Leicester City, James Milner, Joel Matip, Curtis Jones, Naby Keita, and Diogo Jota, performed well.

In the middle, Keita, Wijnaldum and Jones were able to reduce the aggressive play of Youri Tielemans, Nampalys Mendy, Marc Albrighton and James Justin.

James Maddison and Harvey Barnes were also made to lose the ball so that Jamie Vardy had minimal opportunities. Leicester also couldn’t score for the first time in the last seven games.

The stunt double who received the spotlight was Jota. The former Wolverhampton Wanderers is a commensurate coating for Salah’s absence. What’s also nice for the Kopites is the return of Roberto Firmino to the list of goalscorers.

Firmino, who has only scored two goals in nine games, is like being the right person at the right time to emphasize that Liverpool are still grim despite the loss of several players.

If this season is considered a test for Liverpool, then Klopp’s men have had a pretty good start to the test. So far, the defending champion’s consistency doesn’t seem to be in doubt and other teams that are trying to win the title from Liverpool, such as Tottenham Hotspur or Chelsea, have to worry about the current situation.

Liverpool have hopes of defending the title. If you look at next week, when Tottenham and Chelsea meet, there is a chance for Liverpool to reach the top of the standings.

At the same time, the problem of missing players has not completely left Anfield’s sky. Naby Keita’s injury deserves to make Klopp point to the schedule as the culprit for his uneasy sleep.

Klopp is required to continue to carry out proper loading and unloading to ensure Liverpool do not fall down when walking with a body almost half collapsed.

After last season there was an assumption that Liverpool won the title when their rivals were faltering, now may be the time for the owner of 19 Premier League titles to prove that they can win in a dramatic way by passing difficult tests.
