As we take you through a quick overview of the match, Liverpool were actually three goals ahead via Curtis Jones (3′), Luis Diaz (5′), and Mohamed Salah’s penalty (15′). It was a shocking and unexpected series of goals as we hardly get to witness 3 goals being scored within the first 15 minutes of the match. However, Tottenham Hotspur made a heroic compeback into the game as they pegged in three goals in the second half to equalize with the Reds.

It was Harry Kane and Son Heung-min who brought in some hope for the Hots with goals in the 39th and 77th minutes respectively. Then came in Richarlison who netted in the equalizer for his team at 90 + 3 minutes. Liverpool however, got lucky just a couple of seconds later as they were able sneak in the winning goal at 90+4 minutes when Diogo Jota scored the fourth and final goal of the match ahead of the referees closing whistle.

With this victory and a much needed three points jump, Liverpool is closing the gap on the top four teams in the Premier League standings for 2022–2023. With 56 points, the Reds have moved up to fifth place, replacing Tottenham Hotspur. With their fourth straight league victory, Liverpool moved up to fifth place.

Liverpool still has little chances of placing in the top four as they are behind Manchester United and Newcastle by seven and nine points, respectively. Jurgen Klopp would rather see his team exhibit better game management than they did on Sunday, when they blunderlessly allowed a struggling Tottenham team to rally.
