Llorente Shines Brighter in Napoli

Are non-Premier League players less skillful than the English Premier League’s? That’s a big question to answer. There are at least two players who played in the Premier League, and now wasted by the club. In the summer of 2019-2020, Romelu Lukaku and Fernando Llorente have now shown their light shines brighter in the Serie A Italian League.

On Tuesday, Fernando Llorente attracted attention. Because at that time his club Napoli won 2-0 over Liverpool in the inaugural match of Group E Champions League 2019-2020. Both goals for Napoli each scored by Fernando Llorente in injury time and Dries Martens in the 82nd minute. The defeat of the Italian team for Liverpool was their first defeat after wading five initial matches in the Premier League with 15 points. On Sunday in Serie A week 4, Llorente returned to the public spotlight, when Napoli won 4-1 against Lecce at the Via del Mare Stadium, Apullo.

Uniquely, the player with 193 centimeters posture scored two goals. The opening goal, in the 28th minute, and the closing goal in the 82nd minute. Two other goals were given by Fabian Ruiz in the 52nd minute, and Lorenzo Insigne in the 40th minute. While Lecce’s goal was made in the 61st minute by Marco Mancosu. Napoli are now in third place with 9 points. Above, the top is Inter Milan with 12 points, and Juventus in second place with 10 points. But in terms of goal productivity, Napoli are superior to both Inter and Juventus.

Scoring of two goals from Llorente makes Napoli have reached 13 goals. The second place in goal productivity is AS Roma (10 goals). Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti said Llorente was a simple striker. But behind that, the story wass not that simple. Debuting as a starter, Llorente was the first person to be able to score two goals for Napoli in the Italian League. Llorente matches the notes made by Arkadiusz Own which were printed in August 2016.

Ancelotti believes that Llorente has a mature experience, he will always accompany the team trip. Ancelotti also thinks that Llorente can be matched with anyone. Both with Arkadiusz Owned and with Lorenzo Insigne. Napoli supporters are now always waiting for the presence of goals that were born from Llorente who bears fruit. For Llorente who scored one of the goals in the 2-0 win over Liverpool in the Champions League, it meant that Llorente had his revenge for his heartache. When Llorente defended Tottenham Hotspurs in the Champions League last season, Llorente had to bear sadness because Hotspurs lost 0-2 to Liverpool. “The Champions League final last season was very painful for me. Through my team now (Napoli) I want revenge,” said Llorente before kicking off ahead of Liverpool clashes. The Spanish national team player was very upset because of the defeat of his team Hotspur from the Reds at that time.

It will be interesting to observe how Llorente will perform overall under Napoli’s jersey this season.
